Given the recent developments surrounding the COVID-19 outbreak, we want to keep our families updated. As mentioned in our last post, our office is putting into place policies designed to keep our patients, families and employees safe and healthy. You may notice some increased screening questions before scheduling an appointment, additional office cleaning procedures, and the absence of toys and books in the waiting room and exam rooms. We are currently advising that you please do NOT come into the office if you have concerns for coronavirus infection or exposure. Please CALL our office and we can talk you through any concerns and tell you if testing is recommended. Currently all COVID-19 testing is being completed through the health department at drive through testing centers. We are not testing in the office. After telephone screening, if testing criteria is met, we can then provide a doctor’s order that is needed for testing and instruct you where to obtain the test. The current criteria for testing is very limited because the number of tests available is very limited. Orders will only be sent to you through the mychart portal or postal service mail, avoiding coming into the office. A great trustworthy resource to stay up to date on the rapidly evolving situation is the Colorado Department of Public Health COVID-19 website. https://www.colorado.gov/pacific/cdphe/2019-novel-coronavirus
Keep washing those hands, covering those coughs, cleaning those surfaces, and staying home if you or your children don’t feel well. Wishing all of our families a safe and healthy weekend!
